Stamp collecting

Collecting stamps is a great way to "Look" through the past. It is also a great hobby. Here's how I started my collection.
  1. I purchased stamps from post-offices and from stamp dealers.

  2. I also get stamps from friends and family. I get the stamps off envelopes by submerging them under water for about 15 minutes. Some stamps are more valuable with the envelope because of its post marks.

  3. I have bought stamps in a big batches where the dealers measure and sell the stamps by weight. These type of stamps usually aren't valuable, but some times I do get a "sleeper".

  4. I bought the best stamp album affordable. Because cheap stamp albums aren't always good.

A "sleeper" is a very valuable stamp in a big batch of non-valuable stamps. Some "sleepers" are worth a lot of money. I sort my stamps by countries, date, type or topic. I sort stamps by:

  • Animals

  • Technology

  • Scenery

  • Education

  • Insects

  • Birds

  • History

  • Aquatic animals

  • Aquatic plants

  • Fish

  • People

  • Monuments

  • Plants

  • etc

Well, here's about all I have to tell you. Until the next time.
